Basic four types of web hosting we have

Generally we have basic four types of web hosting namely: Shared hosting, Virtual Private Server (VPS) hosting, Dedicated hosting, and lastly Cloud Hosting.

All hosting servers serves as a place were we store our websites, though they all serve as stores to our websites they still have a lot of differences ranging from the control panel, capacity of there storage, speed of server, reliability and technical know how is needed. What do we mean by shared hosting?

Shared hosting is a type of hosting server allows your website to be placed in the same server with many other websites ranging from a few hundreds or thousands. As custom, all domains probably may be sharing the same pool of server resources point, just like the random access memory (RAM) and the central processing unit (CPU) like in computers. Many websites with low or minimum level of traffic usually use this type of hosting. Shared hosting has much acceptance from a lot of people as this type of hosting requires little or minimum technical knowledge.

Disadvantages of shared hosting

In shared hosting tyere are no root access, small power to host high level of traffic or spikes, other sites on the same server can affect your sites level of performance.

Virtual Private Server (VPS) Hosting



What do we mean by VPS hosting?

Possibly the users could have root access to their own personal virtual space and better and more secured hosting environment. Disadvantages of dedicated server hosting

It is very expensive, it usually comes with high power.  It is only recommended to those who want the maximum control and better server performance of their websites.

Cloud Hosting

What do we mean by cloud hosting?

Cloud hosting gives limitless ability to go about high traffic or traffic spikes. Team of servers comes together to host a particular website, this in turn allows multiple computers to work hand in hand together to handle high traffic levels or spikes for any given website.

Disadvantages of  cloud hosting server

Most of the cloud hosting server setups do not usually offers root access (required to change server settings and install some software), higher cost.
